I will now admit something that only my mom probably ever even suspected. Swayze's role in Dirty Dancing was very inspiring to me at age 11. Why? Because I was a 1950's dance instructor/jigalo? I wish but no. I was, however, a pairs figure skater. Let that sink in. Yup. Figure skater from age 5 to age 18. And his portrayal of a strong, masculine ladies man that also danced was a nice role model for the boy who batted .000 in two years of little league but could do a double salchow and throw/catch a girl while skating at full speed.So there you go.
